ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR THE CHARACTERIZATION OF NITROGEN BASES IN HIGH-BOILING PETROLEUM DISTILLATES

License(s):

Other (Open)

This investigation extends previous work by developing a standardized scheme of analyzing basic compound types in petroleum distillates. Bases in crude oils from four different geological sources were studied. The base fractions were obtained from distillates boiling between 370 and 535C and between 535 and 675C. The major basic compound types were analyzed using a standardized scheme so that the composition of bases from various oils could be compared.
