Relative likelihood of commercial gas well constructed using correlation of fracture-parallel reflectivity, fracture-parallel frequency, fracture- perpendicular velocity, and structural altitude, and constrained using 19 control wells. Optimum level for simultaneously minimizing false positives and false negatives is about 80%; higher values may be selected to minimize drilling risk.
