NRAP has developed an open-source integrated assessment model (NRAP-Open-IAM) to help address questions about a potential geological carbon storage (GCS) site’s ability to effectively contain injected CO2 and protect groundwater and other overlying environmentally sensitive receptors. A newly published journal article describes the basic components, highlights important features and capabilities of the model, and describes the tool functionality important for GCS projects.
NRAP-Open-IAM is available for download on GitLab and EDX, and is accompanied by multiple application examples and detailed user and developer guides.
