netl_coal_delivery_lca_baseline_model_v3_032224.zolca

The NETL Coal Baseline Life Cycle Model calculates the life cycle GHG emissions for the coal supply chain. The model includes all key processes for the mining, cleaning, and transportation of coal. There are 55 scenarios, which account for combinations of U.S. coal basins, NERC regions, and coal types. Results are expressed on the basis of 1 kg of coal delivered to a power plant. The model uses stochastic analysis to manage the variability in supply chain parameters; stochastic analysis is necessary in order to avoid unlikely combinations of parameters that results in extreme, unlikely results.
