Tests have been carried out in the 20 atm 1 ft x 1 ft pressurized fluidized-bed combustor to compare the sulfur capture performance of a limestone and a dolomitic limestone. The coal was Pittsburgh No. 8 and it was fed with the sorbents as a mixed slurry. Nominal operating conditions were 10 atmospheres pressure, 1590/sup 0/F bed temperature, 3 to 3.5 ft/s fluidizing velocity and bed heights of 9 ft and 7 ft. 18 figures, 21 tables.
