Advanced Reservoir Imaging Using Frequency-Dependent Seismic Attributes

License(s):

Other (Open)

The project goal is to develop seismic-based technology that correlates and/or quantifies a reservoir's fluid saturation properties and their spatial distribution to frequency- and angle-dependent reflectivity. The proposal involves theory and processing-algorithm development, numerical and physical modeling, laboratory experiments, and field verification using seismic, well-log, and engineering data. Extensions to wave-equation models with fluid flow attenuation and target-oriented seismic processing are two major theoretical developments.
