Other (Open)

This report summarizes the various analytical methods used to analyze the liquids produced in the Pricetown I underground coal gasification experiment. Techniques used to analyze the oil include gas chromatography/mass spectrometry; infrared spectroscopy; NMR spectroscopy; elemental analysis for carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur; boiling range; elution chromatography; specific gravity; viscosity; and vacuum distillation. The water was analyzed by extraction techniques followed by gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy.
