Application of NRAP-Open-IAM to Illinois Christian (Macon) County CarbonSAFE

RESOURCE LINK TBD

Key Findings:

  • Application of NRAP-Open-IAM to a greenfield site to forecast leakage and inform monitoring

  • Stochastically varied well leak permeability and aquifer permeabilities

  • Results indicate that for all realizations and for both injection and monitoring wells, leak rate into the aquifers is low and total amount is far below the 1% leakage value commonly cited as the acceptable criteria for leakage in GCS
