Bench-Scale Development of an Advanced Solid Sorbent-Based CO2 Capture Process for Coal-Fired Power Plants

RTI International addressed the technical and economic hurdles to developing a sorbent-based carbon dioxide (CO2) capture process by transitioning a promising sorbent chemistry, based on molecular basket sorbent (MBS) materials, to a low-cost sorbent suitable for use in a fluidized-bed process and developing a scalable circulating fluidized, moving-bed reactor (FMBR) process arrangement.
