This preliminary report was designed to give information regarding types, quality, and correlation of properties and productive formations of petroleum in the Powder River Basin to those concerned with development and planning of the Missouri River Basin Project. The Bureau of Mines is preparing a more comprehensive report under its regular program that will include unabridged analysis reports of 108 crude oil samples, representing all fields and productive formations studied. This will be published as a Report of Investigations.
