Mass spectrometer analysis have been found to be a valuable adjunct to the Dumas micromethod for nitrogen determination. While continued use of the mass spectrometer for checking such analysis would seldom be justified, occasional checks will disclose any serious error and will indicate the remedial measures necessary to eliminate such error. This paper discusses a simple modification of a Dumas micromethod nitromotor that facilitates transfer of gas into the mass spectrometer.
