It is proposed to use a borehole gasification method, as will be described, and to gasify a 36-inch bed of coal flat lying under an average cover of 125 feet with a minimum cover of 100 feet. A working area 1800 feet square will be required so that a project life of not less than 10 years will be obtained. The coal present in this plot of land will be 2,765,000 tons.
