Basic objective of the empirical study was to gather and synthesize sufficient data to facilitate: Development of an industry base case in EGR technology development - Identification of principal R&D activities, timeframes, etc. - Specification of the financial and economic criteria and decision process employed in the evaluation of prospective EGR projects Delineation of the major risks, uncertainties, and constraints to the timely and cost effective exploitation of nonconventional resources by .the private sector Formulation of a comprehensive set of candidate Federal strategies for accelerating the exploitation of the nonconventional resources Procurement of specific industry recommendations concerning a Federal program in EGR technology envelopment.
