The Energy Research and Development Administration has requested proposals for demonstrating the technical and economic feasibility of different in situ shale oil recovery methods. Corollary objectives are to demonstrate the best explosive fracturing and rubblizing technique for the process and to determine operating conditions necessary to obtain desired retorting results. Occidential Oil Shale, Inc. has responded to this request and proposes to conduct these demonstrations for their modified in situ process.
