EVALUATION OF A COMMERCIAL DYE AS THE LIQUID PHASE IN THE GAS CHROMATOGRAPHIC SEPARATION OF NITROGEN COMPOUNDS

License(s):

Other (Open)

The separation and identification of the nonbasic nitrogen compounds from petroleum is one of the problems of the American Petroleum Institute Research Project 52b. Concentrates of nitrogen compounds are prepared by distillation, adsorption, and extraction- methods that leave the nitrogen compounds in association with sulfur and oxygen compounds as well as with aromatic hydrocarbons. Gas liquid chromatographic procedures, using presently known substrates, have failed to separate these complex mixtures.
