Mismatched traces (crossline source and inline geophone component; inline source and crossline geophone component) in the VSP experiment for depth level 35 in a window centered about the first break. A requirement of standard processing techniques for the analysis of shear wave splitting is that the mismatched traces be identical. Clearly, the traces do not match in amplitude, and they are phase shifted relative to one another.
