Other (Open)

The Gas Research Institute (GRI) is developing technology for the economic recovery of natural gas from three sources not generally producible with current technology: tight gas sands, coalbed methane, and eastern Devonian shales. The GRI R&D program is focused on the development of the technology necessary to reduce risks that are inhibiting the exploitation of these resources by private industry. With the reduction of these risks, industry can develop these resources, increasing the gas supply with attendant benefits to the consumer.
