EPA has completed a five year project do develop groundwater quality monitoring recommendations for western oil shale development. Five major reports have been published. The compendium reports consider the various production processes and key environmental factors related to oil shale development. Each of the potential sources of pollution and specific pollutants associated with each source have been identified.
