The Department of Energy is charged with ensuring the nations energy security, economic health and environmental protection by promoting the most efficient and responsible utilization of the nations energy resources. To support this goal, DOE planners in the Strategic Center for Natural Gas at the National Energy Technology Laboratory conduct detailed analyses of alternative R&D and policy scenarios using the Gas Systems Analysis Model.
