This work was undertaken to prepare a large quantity of jet and Diesel fuel from crude shale oil by recycle coking followed by hydrogenation of the coker distillate at 1500 pounds per square inch gage pressure and 835 F over a fixed-bed cobalt molybdate catalyst.
