Low-Energy Solvents for CO2 Capture Enabled by a Combination of Enzymes and Vacuum Regeneration

Novozymes, together with the project partners, designed, built, and tested an integrated bench-scale system that combines the attributes of an enzyme catalyst (carbonic anhydrase [CA]) with low-enthalpy absorption liquids and vacuum regeneration in a solvent-based carbon dioxide (CO2) capture process, and evaluated a novel ultrasonically enhanced regeneration concept.
