This appendix summarizes the final federal coal management decisions for the planning area. The process used to arrive at these decisions is briefly explained. This summary is intended to aid the public in understanding the federal coal management program as it applies to the planning area to show the requirements that must be met under 43 CFR 3400. These planning decisions will guide the development of the federal coal resource in this area during the remainder of the 1980s and afterward.
