The production of methane from coalbeds is one of the prime objectives of the Department of Energy's Methane Recovery from Coalbeds Project (MRCP). In order to fully understand and use the data obtained from the drilling of 45 wells throughout the US, a data base system has been developed by the Morgantown Energy Technology Center (METC). This report contains a description of the MRCP Data Base System Design and the reasons for the design methodology. The report also describes the potential compatibility with the US Geological Survey Data Base System and the US Bureau of Mines Data Base System.
