Lost circulation is the loss of the drilling fluid from the borehole through porous formations, crevices or fractures. Because of higher severity and frequency of losses in fractured formations, industry has been recently focused on the quantitative analysis of drilling mud losses into natural fractures. Several models have been developed but most of them have limited application potential
