This Cyber Security Plan was developed to protect the data and application systems used to conduct the business of the National Petroleum Technology Office (NPTO) of the Department of Energy (DOE). Following DOE guidelines and accepted industry practice, this document serves to guide the support personnel performing the routine duties to securely preserve the environment for NPTO employees'and contractors'tasks. Carefully adhering to the notices, guides, and orders as input from the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of DOE, the site's security policies and procedural information is placed into the outline of the CIO Cyber Security template as its structural basis. Beginning with NPTO's business environment and mission, the document leads into the processes used to safeguard the integrity of NPTO's data and services.
