Oil shale 1982: a technology and policy primer

An updated policy primer and technology assessment of the oil shale industry is presented for the benefit of policy makers and the general public. Methods for the development, management, and use of energy are discussed. The biological, economic, social, and political impacts and controversies surrounding current and future energy related activities are considered. Mining methods, retort processing, and methods for disposing of the shale are also discussed.
