License(s):

Other (Open)

"Both private industry and Government are actively engaged in numerous activities that will lead to the development of our vast oil- shale resources. This paper reviews the status and problems in each of the major activity areas, which have been broadly classified as surface and in situ retorting research, characterization studies, and Government policy. The scope and progress of each of these activities indicate that we may have an oil-shale industry within the next decade."
