The scope of work for the Phase I Pacific Project Mine and related Facilities encompasses a preliminary design package and cost estimates for an underground oil shale mine and related facilities which support a commercial-sized, 18,000 barrel-per-day surface retorting module. The Project design is presented in four major parts: the mine; mine services; raw shale fines and retorted shale disposal; and abandonment. Contents of Volume I include: (1) site description; (2) design basis data package; (3) other general descriptions (geology, rock mechanics, resource analysis, soils investigation and summary tabulation of overall project criteria and data,9046 ); (4) acceptable bidders list; (5) design considerations; and (6) appendices for rock mechanics report and mechanical properties testing of Pacific oil shale. 2 figs., 2 tabs.
