Other (Open)

Wyoming refineries processed 34 million barrels of oil in 1955. This was about one-third the 100 million barrels of petroleum produced in Wyoming that year. Each of the twelve plants scattered throughout the state produce some or all the following products: Gasoline, Diesel fuel, fuel oil, asphalt and road oils, wax and lubricating oil. In addition, the nearby refining centers of Denver, Scottabluff, Billings and Salt Lake City draw some of their crude oil from Wyoming. The remainder of the Wyoming oil goes principally to the refining centers of Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago and other Midwestern cities.
