"The Laramie Energy Research Center (LERC) has contracted with Science Applications, Inc. (SAI), to develop a program of effluent atmospheric dispersion analysis for LERC's in-situ energy recovery research and development projects. Three specific experimental programs are involved: 1) in-situ recovery of oil from shale, 2) in-situ coal gasification, 3) in-situ recovery of oil from tar sands. The basic purpose of this effort is to define a methodology by which air emissions associated with each project under consideration can be related to the potential impact on air quality in terms of federal and state standards. This will be accomplished through a comprehensive atmospheric dispersion analysis program."
