POST-BURN STUDY OF THE ROCKS SPRINGS, SITE 9 IN SITU RETORTING EXPERIMENT

After completion of the experiment, a post-burn evaluation was made to determine the vertical and horizontal dimensions of the thermal halo and the retorted shale. Post-burn cores were drilled and visually examined, and bitumen or oil samples were analyzed for chemical composition and physical properties to produce analytical data that were analyzed by computerized pattern recognition techniques.
