The Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 requires that the Secretary of Energy prepare, in cooperation with affected federal agencies, a project Decision Schedule that portrays the optimum way to attain the operation of geologic repositories. The Project Decision Schedule portrays the major milestones of the Radioactive Waste Management System. It also depicts the set of activities for which Federal agencies have responsibility and the deadlines for taking the required action that are associated with the activities.
