Reservoir Heterogeneity Classification System for Characterization and Analysis of Oil Resource Base in Known Reservoirs

License(s):

Other (Open)

The remaining mobile and immobile oil resources occur in a variety of geologic settings and reservoir types. Recovery efficient of hydrocarbons from known reservoirs is largely controlled by internal reservoir architecture and primary and supplemental recovery mechanisms. The internal architecture and character of a reservoir are functions of its genesis. A generally held hypothesis is that reservoirs with similar geological affinities have characteristic production constraints and respond to primary and advanced recovery applications similarly.
