The Institute of Gas Technology is performing special core analysis measurements under contract to the U. S. Department of Energy, Morgantown Energy Technology Center, on eastern gas shale and western tight gas sands. The shale work is being done in support of DOE's reservoir modeling efforts in order to provide reliable input data on shale matrix properties. The tight sand analysis is being performed in support of DOE's Multiwell Experiment (MWX), currently taking place in Garfield County, Colorado.
