A sampling and analysis research program was conducted at the Paraho oil shale retorting demonstration site at Anvil Points, Colorado. The work was carried out by TRW and the Denver Research Institute. The overall objective of the test program was to obtain preliminary quantitative and qualitative measurement of air, water, and solid compositions, and to gain experience which would lead to improved sampling procedures and the determination of priorities for sampling and analysis of shale oil recovery operations.
