"This report covers work done on the scrubbing research part of DOE Contract No. DE-AS20-82LC10868 through the quarter ending on September 30, 1983. Results of a very large number of experimental runs are reported and a detailed discussion is presented on the effects of liquid pH and buffer capacity on the absorption process. Both pH level and buffer capacity playa crucial role in determining the degree of acid gas absorption in venturi scrubbers. During the next quarter, a detailed look at the effects of the scrubber L/G ratio and of the gas velocity in the throat of the venturi will be conducted."
