"Overburden sediments at the Hoe Creek UCG site are part of the lower Wasatch Formation. These sediments were characterized in terms of lithology, geometry, mineralogy, and environments of deposition. Sandstones in the overburden were further characterized in terms of texture, diagenesis, and source area(s). These characterizations are based on information obtained from post burn cores, gamma ray logs, measured sections , SEM analyses, x-ray diffraction analyses, thin section studies, coal analyses, and from isopach and sandstone isolith maps. This information was also used to determine parameters responsible for surface subsidence at the Hoe Creek III UCG site."
