STEAM STRIPPIN OF OCCIDENTAL PETROLEUM RETORT NO. 6 GAS (PROCESS) CONDENSATE - PRELIMINARY REPORT/REVISED

During completion of Phases 1 and 2 of the subject contract, it became apparent that little, if any, research on the treatability of retort gas condensate wastewaters had been completed. Since this process stream must be handled as an important component in the overall water balance for a retorting operation, it is desirable to know which treatment technologies are capable of improving the quality of this wastewater such that it can be applied to a given end use. Knowledge of treatability is especially useful in this case, since the ultimate objective of MRC's contract with EPA-IERL/Ci is to have available for field testing pilot-scale treatment units designed specifically for application to retorting associated wastewater streams.
