Stratigraphy of West-Central New Mexico

License(s):

Other (Open)

West-central New Mexico, Fig. 1, is a relatively remote area, with a small population engaged mostly in ranching. South of Grants and Gallup, known economic mineral deposits are virtually nonexistent. Fluorite is mined in the Zuni Mountains, lead and zinc is still being recovered from the Magdalena Mountains, and salt continues to be harvested at Zuni Salt Lake.
