Advance 3-D seismic technology for imaging sedimentary structures lying beneath salt bodies in the Gulf of Mexico by developing capabilities in 3-D prestack depth migration. The project will research and develop migration computer algorithms, define optimum computer architectures, specify data input/output systems, develop methods of seismic velocity analysis/estimation, and evaluate technologies for visualizing and interpreting seismic images for geological structure and reservoir description.
