Subsea Produced Water Sensor Development

To develop and design Subsea water quality monitoring sensors to measure the quality of produced water separated at the Sea-floor. The sensors will also offer an improved failsafe system as well as for controls of Subsea production equipment. These sensors will be capable of determining if the level of contamination is below, at, or above the permitted level, and then be able to give signals to shut down operations or to divert all of the production fluids to a topside facility. The project developed Subsa produced water (PW) sensors to Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3.
