During the writers'examination of the intertonguing relations of the Gallup sandstone and the Moncos shale in the Hogback east and southeast of Gallup, several stratigraphic sections of the Mancos shale and Dakota sandstone were measured to furnish a supplemental datum against which to gauge lateral changes in the Gallup sandstone. The information thus incidentally obtained is summarized here and gives a more complete picture of the Mancos and Dakota of this area than has been heretofore published.
