The initial objectives are to correlate core analyses, log analyses and well test analyses in an effort to increase the amount and quality of data from these sources, and to use these data directly in the design of hydraulic-fracture treatments. Also, to apply and improve the use of real-time fracture treatment, diagnostic tests and post-fracture well tests in the evaluation of the shape and extent of a hydraulic fracture. The ultimate objective will be to develop a system that can be used to accurately predict and, possibly, control the shape and extent of a hydraulic fracture.
