"Under contract with the Office of Naval Research and Department of Energy, Paraho performed retorting research directed towards supplying, transporting, and refining of up to 14,400 tonnes (100, 000 barrels) of crude shale oil. During the 1977-78 research-production project, several milestones were achieved: • Long, continuous operations. • High onstream factors. • Good material balance closures. • Good yields. • Significant research results. This paper discusses the milestones and presents data on the Paraho operations."
