UK-CAER Heat-Integrated Transformative CO2 Capture Process for Pulverized Coal Power Plants

The University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research (UK CAER) team developed a transformational post-combustion carbon dioxide (CO2) capture technology using advanced solvents and incorporating innovative heat integration methods to utilize heat typically rejected to the environment via a two-stage solvent regeneration configuration and several novel process intensification strategies, thereby ultimately improving power plant efficiency.
