A review has been made of available core, log, and petrographic datas from the Paludal Zone as defined by J. C. Lorenz, SNL extends from 6600 to 7455 ft. This zone was not cored in MWX-1 but was cored from 7080 to 7388 ft in MWX-2. The top of the main coaly zone is at 7040 ft based on log analysis and the base of the zone is at 7430 ft in MWX-2.
