The purpose of this project was to investigate the effects of snowfall on oil shale reside from the TOSCO process and the subsequent effects on water quality. This project consisted of determining the concentration and composition of runoff from a spent oil shale pile during a period of snow melt and the properties of the shale before the application of snow and after its disappearance.
