Oil shale development has the potential for various impacts on local and possibly regional ground and surface water resources. Disruptions to hydrologic systems will occur as a result of the long-term development scenario. The Bureau of Land Management must address the development and associated effects within the context of its land use planning documents, Resource Management Plans (RMP's) and environmental statements (ES's).
